A free faith-based training for women veterans — from Fresh Fire International Ministries, a nonprofit restoring veterans in Oklahoma and beyond.
Dr. Sheila R. Smith, PhD, founded Fresh Fire International Ministries because she believes no woman who served this country should have to rebuild her life alone.
Fresh Fire has spent years meeting veterans where they are — meals, clothing, urgent help, and a listening ear — and working toward Restoration Village, a place where women veterans can find safe housing and real community. This training grows out of that same mission: not just meeting the urgent need, but walking with a woman as she rebuilds what comes next.
Service asks everything of a woman. Coming home asks something else again — finding who you are when the uniform comes off, when the structure is gone, when the world moves on and you are still carrying what you saw and what you survived.
This training walks through three movements, together:
1. Finding your voice again. Many women come home and discover their voice got buried — under the mission, under everybody else's needs, under years of holding it all together. Here, we start digging it back up. You will be heard, and you will learn to hear yourself again.
2. Naming your purpose. You were not only made to serve — you were made for something only you can carry. This training helps you name it in one clear sentence: what God put in you, and what it looks like in this season of your life.
3. Rebuilding after trauma, step by step. Healing is not a single moment. It is a path. You will leave with practical next steps for your daily life — how to steady yourself, how to ask for help without shame, and how to move from surviving to rebuilding.
Faith is woven through all of it. Scripture, prayer, and honest conversation — never preached at you, always walked with you.
A free training, in a room of women who understand service — no cost, no catch.
A clear purpose statement in her own words by the end of the training.
Practical next steps she can use the very next morning.
Connection to Fresh Fire's ongoing support: outreach, community, and the Restoration Village vision.
A safe, faith-filled space where her story is honored, not rushed.
Women veterans — any branch, any era — who are ready to heal, to be heard, and to build what comes next. You do not have to have it all figured out. You only have to be willing to take the next step.
